Not sure I like the name 'Klarna', but for those who have not seen, CBA recently announced it as a competitor/alternative to Afterpay and other BNPL schemes: https://www.commbank.com.au/digital-banking/klarna.html
It seems to be nicely integrated into the CBA netbanking app, which IMO, is one of the best in the country, and has been for a while. I wonder if, given CBA's pretty vast customer base, an integrated BNPL scheme from within the netbanking app has the ability to take customers back from APT for their BNPL needs. I think my initial view is 'yes'. The other major advantage is that it is not retailer dependent.
Interested to hear others thoughts.
APT was $108.30 at the close prior to posting, it is now around $108.30 (100%) lower · Yeddit had a none/not held disclosure

NotLikeThat
Risk? Sure. Likely impact? IMO, minimal. CBA's investment in Klarna to date hasn't paid off. Looks like Westpac got it right.
